Instructional Support Specialist
About the role
The Instructional Support Specialist (ISS) assists the classroom teacher in providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with extensive support needs. They also provide training and support to new and substitute instructional assistants and substitute teachers.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Support students in achieving academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Provide training and support to new and substitute instructional assistants and substitute teachers
Requirements
- Three years experience working in an educational environment, preferably with students with disabilities
- Successful completion of the EDCOE 40-hour ISS training and a passing score on the ISS exam/practicum
- Candidates with 40 hours of RBT training through another agency may submit their certificate of completion for consideration, requiring only 10 additional hours of training
- Uploads of the following documents are required: Certificate Copy (ISS or RBT Training Certificate), Letter of Introduction, and two current letters of recommendation (written within the last two years)
- Experience and education as outlined above
Qualifications
- Strong preference for three years of experience in an educational setting
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities is preferred

Benefits
The position offers competitive compensation starting at $24.43 - $31.79 per hour, with initial salary placement on the first step of the range. The length of the work year is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 197 days per year, 10 months.
