About the role
This position involves supporting classroom teachers in providing a safe and nurturing environment for preschool age students.
Responsibilities
- Assist in lesson planning and implementation
- Support teachers in managing classroom activities
- Provide supervision and guidance to preschool students
- Help maintain a clean and organized learning space
Requirements
- Six (6) months experience working with preschool age students
- High School diploma or GED Certificate or CHSPE
- Twelve (12) units of Child Development OR Early Childhood Education core units
- Instructional Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate
- Must possess one of the following: Active Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher level permit, Child Development Associate Certification, Be enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate of baccalaureate degree or Be enrolled in a Child Development Associate credential program to be completed within two (2) years of the time of hire and ensure to meet the state licensing staff qualification requirements.
Qualifications
- Certification (All applicants must submit a copy of twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education core units OR Associate Teacher Child Development Permit)
- NCLB Compliance (Attach Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate and Child Development Teacher Permit OR higher level permit or Child Development Associates Cerfificate)
