Instructional Paraprofessional

Qualifications

• High school or general education diploma
• ParaPro Praxis Assessment, or Associate of Arts degree, or 60 college hours (documentation of completion must be provided)

Terms Of Employment

The contract length will be 185 days. The salary schedule will be N - Paraprofessional.

Evaluation

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the Principal who is assisted by the Assistant Principal in regard to evaluations.

Job Goal

The Instructional Paraprofessional will endeavor to assist and support teachers and other certified and noncertified personnel in the implementation of instructional programs and services for all students.

Performance Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
• Reinforces instructional activities with students, as prescribed
• Affords assistance in the preparation of lesson plans and instructional materials
• Affords responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties, as prescribed
• Learns the curriculum content of the class to which they are assigned
• Affords assistance and implementation of behavior management and safety procedures consistent with the class, content, and instructor
• Affords assistance in data collection, when appropriate
• Affords assistance with classroom maintenance
• Affords assistance with duties such as lunchroom, recess, bus, etc., when appropriate
• Attends a minimum of thirty (30) hours of professional development training each year
• Participates in staff and faculty meetings
• Reports to and completes daily work schedule, as assigned
• Performs other duties, as assigned
