Essential Duties
- Recognize the basic dignities of students, parents and families, colleagues, and subordinates.
- Exercise due care to protect the mental and physical safety of students.
- Supervise students during transitions, recesses, lunches, and other times as directed.
- Supplement teacher instruction to support student learning.
- Plan and instruct students individually and/or in small groups to support student learning.
- Perform non-instructional duties to support school operations.
- Initiate and maintain collaborative relationships with students’ parents and families.
Essential Qualifications And Characteristics
- A high school diploma or an equivalent
- A positive, student-centered, and solution-focused attitude towards education and students
- The ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- Respect for supervisors
- The ability to work with diverse groups of students
- The ability to enforce corporation and school rules and policies
- The ability to adhere to strict confidentiality policies
- The ability to use various computer and technology resources
- A past record clear of criminal activity and child abuse or neglect
Working Conditions
- The duties of this position are performed in all school environments.
- Persons are required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, and depth perception.
- Noise levels in the working environments may be moderately loud or loud.
- Occasionally, persons are required to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Persons are also required to maintain emotional composure under stress.
