Responsibilities
- Own the Train-to-Maintain and Advanced Maintenance curricula portfolios across all supported platforms, serving as the single point of accountability for content readiness, accuracy, and instructional approach
- Assess platform releases, upgrades, and service changes to determine training impact and prioritize required updates
- Design, develop, publish, and maintain advanced service and maintenance training, with a primary focus on instructor-led courses, experiential labs, and job-aligned learning solutions
- Analyze target audience needs, knowledge and skill gaps, content, tasks, and available resources to create appropriate learning objectives
- Create learning solutions to support cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning objectives for worldwide audiences, optimizing the media/format for the audience needs
- Evaluate the success of training programs in terms of learning outcomes and relevance to real-world service performance
- Partner closely with field service engineers, technicians, trainers, and technical writers to translate complex mechanical and electrical procedures into effective, teachable learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to share project information, content, and ideas for optimal learning products team deliverables
- Partner with technical writers for optimal placement and management of instructions between documentation and training materials
- Manage, track, and report on projects as requested and according to required timeline
- Determine methods to reduce required onsite instructor training delivery where appropriate, such as convert to eLearning or remote delivery
- Incorporate and consult on use of video to augment instruction
- Incorporate translated content to produce localized versions as required
- Seek, facilitate, and incorporate feedback from peers, subject matter experts, and customers
- Locate or create appropriate, on-brand graphics to illustrate concepts
- Incorporate required GUIs/screens
Qualifications, Education, And Experience
- Demonstrated experience as an instructional designer developing technical training for mechanical or electro-mechanical systems, or equivalent experience combining instructional design with hands-on service or technician work
- Hands-on familiarity with basic technician toolsets (e.g., torque wrenches, fasteners, mechanical adjustment tools)
- Strong ability to conduct task analysis and develop instructional and performance objectives aligned to real service work
- Working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout
- Experience supporting global training programs and localization
- Strong project management skills and ability to work under deadline pressures
- Excellent communication skills for visual, written, and verbal communication, plus very strong listening, questioning, and interviewing skills
- Experience developing for instructor-led delivery
- Experience publishing within a Learning Management System
- Self-starter with ability to work comfortably and successfully within a large, complex, matrixed organization, under high degree of ambiguity and change
