Instructional Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD
$100,000 Annual Salary
$100,000 annual salary paid weekly, with full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
Location
On-site position at one of Alpha's campuses: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
Work Schedule
40-hour workweek, 100% of time spent in classroom with K-2 students
Qualifications
- You've dedicated years to becoming proficient in structured literacy. Whether through Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction, you've developed the ability to identify a student's miscue and pinpoint the exact phonemic skill to address.
- You can craft a phonics lesson without reliance on scripted materials. That level of expertise is expected.
- Your structured-literacy credentials open the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 classroom during a 20-minute workshop is what earns you the role.
- If you don't naturally embody "dynamic, engaging presence," this position isn't the right fit.
Responsibilities
- Create and facilitate small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student performance data
- Conduct daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly adaptive-app targets, applying Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
- Conduct and interpret running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations to monitor progress and refine upcoming instruction
- Analyze AI-generated performance metrics from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not only during pre-planning
- Serve as the approachable, dynamic adult presence your K-2 students are excited to work with each day
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Direct experience with AI-powered or adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Amira, Lexia, i-Ready, Reading Plus) for instructional planning or student data interpretation
- Documented history of measurable reading gains (fluency improvements in WCPM, accuracy increases, decoding level progression) with specific numerical evidence
- Experience in non-traditional or innovative educational settings (charter, micro-school, Montessori, hybrid)
- Experience in performance, youth sports coaching, or otherwise engaging a K-2 audience outside formal reading instruction
