Instructional Coach - Pool

About the Role

Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills. Evaluates the performance of assigned classroom teachers, helps reduce the student-to-teacher ratio, and delivers appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enables students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Responsibilities

• Coach and support classroom teachers to develop instructional skills.
• Evaluate the performance of assigned classroom teachers.
• Reduce student-to-teacher ratio by providing direct instructional support.
• Provide students with learning activities and experiences in the assigned core academic subject area.
• Help students develop competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Enable students to develop skills to function successfully in society.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid Texas teaching certificate.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of research and evidence-based practices for teaching reading and writing.
• Ability to accurately assess student progress.
• Extensive knowledge of content, methodologies, and pedagogical practices related to teaching English Language Arts, with an emphasis on intervention and differentiation.
• Extensive knowledge of curricular requirements such as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
• Ability to gather, disaggregate, and interpret data.
• Ability to evaluate curriculum, instruction programs, and teacher effectiveness.
• Three years of classroom experience.

Pay

Annual salary range: $57,350 – $74,068.
