About the role
Assist the Head Start, Pre-K, or Pre-School ESE Teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in instructing reading/language arts, writing, and mathematics, or readiness in these areas as appropriate
- Perform other classroom duties as assigned by the lead teacher
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution, or
- At least 60 semester hours of earned college credit from an accredited institution, or
- Standard high school diploma or GED, plus successful completion of the Teacher Assisting Curriculum at a designated Broward County technical center, and a passing score on the ParaPro Test or another officially sanctioned standard test
- Computer skills as required for the position
- Any additional continuing-education hours mandated by the program funding source must be obtained within the required timeframe
Pay
Hourly rate: $16.89 (new hires start at the minimum of the assigned salary range).
