Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college/university; OR
- 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university; OR
- Pass the ParaPro Assessment
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to work with special education students in both individual and small group settings while providing instruction and behavior support
- Build relationships with students
- Follow IEP/Behavior Plans
- Maintain professionalism
- Communicate with grade level teachers
Training Requirements
- Complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department within one week of hire as a condition of employment
- Additional 40 hours of training available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 5 upon completion; training must be completed within six (6) months from hire date as a condition of employment
Pay
Lane 4 Step 1 ($20.92/Hour) effective July 1, 2025. Salary schedules available.
