Instructional Assistant - Muskego Lakes Middle School

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in instructional activities and supervision of students in a structured and unstructured environment.
• Assist in behavior management strategies and consequences, and may assist with self-help skills and health care procedures.
• May work with wheelchair or ambulatory students in small groups or on an individual basis, and may be required to lift or restrain students weighing up to 80 pounds.
• May transport student(s) in school vans into the community for school-related activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Dependable driving and work record a must.
• Positive and friendly work attitude.
• Must have DPI Spec. Ed. Program Aide certification or be willing to become certified.
• Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to take class.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• Ability to get along and communicate well with staff, students, and parents.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use computer equipment and other assistive technology devices.
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
