Instructional Assistant - Meadowlark Academy - Intensive SEL Classroom - St. Helens - 26/27 School Year - THREE POSITIONS AVAILABLE

About the role

NWRESD is seeking three Instructional Assistant positions within an Intensive Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) classroom. These roles support students with significant social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials under direction of licensed teacher.
• Provide instruction under the direction of licensed teacher.
• Aid in working with students to complete assignments.
• Assist in grading and recording students assignments.
• Take and maintain data as needed and required by licensed teacher.
• Support students with restroom needs as advised.
• Maintain students safety and monitor appropriate behavior at recess, in class, and during bus loading and unloading.
• Note discipline issues and complete accurate paperwork for reporting such incidents.
• Participate in restraint training as required.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift students from a wheelchair to the floor and back, and on and off of a changing table.
• Child Care Central Background Registry Clearance (applicable for all employees assigned to Early Learning positions/worksites).
• A valid drivers license.
• Proficient in the use of computer and internet based applications, including but not limited to email, internet software, Google Suites, and word processing (MS Word).
• Certificates as determined by the District, including a CPR certificate and instruction in blood borne pathogens.
• Other training as required by the District.

Pay

Classified Salary Schedule - Range C $22.07 - $26.39 per hour; DOE
