INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT - SCHOFIELD MS.

Program: Resource Room (9 months, 5 hours per day)

About the Role

This position supports students in the Resource Room program at Jack Lund Schofield Middle School, located in Las Vegas.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified teachers in providing instructional support to students with special needs.
• Help implement individualized education programs (IEPs) under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials and adapt lessons as needed.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success.

Requirements

• Completion of the entire three (3) year work history in the "Experience and Credentials" section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.
• Required documents for the position must be attached at the time of application to be considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following:
  • Sixty (60) college credits from an accredited institution, or
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent exam.
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
