About the role

Location: Carmichael. Number of openings: 1. Position type: Permanent. Employment type: Part/Full Time. The role is an Instructional Assistant II supporting mild/moderate special education programs (Resource, Learning Handicap, Communicatively Handicap).

Responsibilities

• Run small groups
• Assist students in large groups in Special Day Class and General Education settings
• Support teacher’s needs
• In some programs, obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire (if required to drive equipment/vehicle)

Requirements

Candidates must have any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties.

Qualifications

• Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (test date April 2005 to present) – OR
• Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) – OR
• Official transcripts showing completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) – OR
• Proof of an A.A. degree or higher
• If degree/transcripts are from a foreign institution, coursework must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency

Pay

Salary range: $19.51 – $25.69 per hour (IA II).

Schedule

Work year: 9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week (Calendar 18A).

Work day: 6 hours.

Work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
