About the Role

We are hiring in the following geographic region: El Dorado Hills to Camino. The El Dorado County Office of Education accepts applications for Instructional Assistant - Autism - Special Services Program on a year-round basis to create an eligibility list for current and future openings.

Under supervision of the Director of Special Services or designee, provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); present instructional material; complete routine clerical duties. This position requires knowledge of and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and other methods of instruction commonly used with students who have ASD.

All applicants must pass a multiple-choice exam and, if hired, must successfully complete a 50-pound lift assessment by one of our approved providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
• Present instructional material.
• Complete routine clerical duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or A.A. degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
• Experience working with children in an educational or other structured setting, preferably with students with disabilities.
• Training in Applied Behavioral Analysis Techniques, TEACCH Techniques, and behavior management strategies.
• Successful completion of the EDCOE Instructional Assistant-Autism exam.

Pay

Pay Range: $21.59 - $26.75 per hour
