Berks Career & Technology Center (BCTC) is seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant to join our East Campus team in Oley, PA. About BCTCBCTC provides hands-on career and technical education to students from 16 public school districts across Berks County. With campuses in Oley and Leesport, we connect classroom learning with practical experience, helping students prepare for employment, apprenticeships, military service or higher education. About the PositionAs an Instructional Assistant at BCTC’s East Campus in Oley, you’ll support high school students as they learn, grow and build skills for their future. Working alongside instructors in our hands-on, career-focused programs, you’ll help students stay engaged, build confidence and succeed in the classroom and lab.This full-time position is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, dependable and enjoys helping students reach their goals. QualificationsWe’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, works well with others and brings patience, encouragement and reliability to each school day. Strong interpersonal, writing and basic computer skills are important, along with the ability to follow school policies and support students with a range of learning needs.A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with postsecondary coursework in education or a related field preferred. Experience working with children, supporting classroom instruction or working in a K–12 or career and technical education setting is helpful. Familiarity with classroom and lab safety practices is also beneficial. Candidates should be able to stand, move throughout the learning environment and assist with hands-on activities as needed.
