Instructional Aide - Special Education

About the role

Inova Kellar Center is looking for a dedicated Instructional Aide to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift; 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Responsibilities

• Presents teacher-prepared lessons and reinforces skills taught by the teacher to small groups or individual students.
• Helps with organization of special education records, student files and documentation of academic and IEP progress.
• Supervises the classroom in the absence of the teacher.
• Performs a variety of clerical tasks for the purpose of supporting the teacher and provides necessary records and materials.
• Prepares instructional materials for the purpose of providing students with necessary items and assisting the teacher in the classroom.
• Maintains an effective learning environment through student supervision, classroom management, and implementation of the behavior intervention system.

Requirements

• Education: High School or equivalent
• Experience: 1 (one) year of experience working with children in a group setting

Qualifications

• Preferred: RBT certification (we will provide BCBA supervision)
