Instructional Aide - Early Childhood Special Education (2026-27 School Year)

Responsibilities

• Know, understand, and support the approved Personnel Policies and Procedures of BECEP and Bismarck Public Schools.
• Participate in daily planning, implementing, and evaluating classroom activities and child performance with the classroom teacher.
• Work with individuals or groups of children, without direct supervision, in the classroom or on the playground.
• Auxiliary supervision and care of children during designated school hours.
• Assist with the preparation and serving of snack as requested.
• Assist with loading and unloading buses, dressing, toileting, diapering, washing, and other activities as needed.
• Ensure children’s needs are met in the absence of the teacher.
• Be responsible for all assigned documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding BECEP children and families.
• Communicate all child information and questions to the teacher.
• Aware of and follow all safety and emergency procedures.
• Act as a positive, contributing team member in working with staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
