About the role
The Position under general supervision of an administrator, performs a variety of instructional and routine clerical duties designed to free the instructor from routine work related to the program.
Responsibilities
- Aids in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment.
- Tutors individuals in small groups of students to reinforce and follow up learning activity.
- Makes simple arithmetical calculations.
- Grades papers.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent AND ONE of the following: A minimum of 48 semester or 72 quarter units of college coursework. An Associate's or higher degree. Pass an assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching, reading, writing and mathematics.
- Ability To Communicate effectively by reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students.
- Perform routine clerical work.
- Make simple arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Operate a typewriter and other office equipment after training.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.

- Paid Holidays: Up to 16 holidays per year depending on months worked for all classified employees.
- Paid Vacation: Vacation is prorated for all classified employees, based on the hours and months worked per year.
- Health Benefits: For positions 35 hours or more per week the District contributes $12,900 (subject to change) toward annual premium for medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.
- Retirement: PERS for positions 20 hours or more per week.
Pay
- Initial salary placement for new employees is customarily at step 1 ($20.25 per hour) of this salary range.
Schedule
- Part-time openings (10 months, 15 to 30 hours per week).
