About the role
The UMA Office of Library Services is seeking an Instruction & Outreach Librarian to join our Bangor Campus. The primary purpose of the position is to help effectively maintain distance and in-person library services for students, staff, and faculty. The position also exists to serve the UMA community in copyright law knowledge as well as assisting the UMA community with creating accessible public-facing content. Additionally, the position leads Nottage Library student employees, UMA Libraries' marketing, design, and outreach projects, and provides design consultation and training services to the entire Academic Services Unit.

- Demonstrates at least one year of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: library services, academic support, technology support, teaching, or customer service.
- Demonstrated familiarity with AI tools and emerging AI technologies
- Demonstrates the ability to provide instruction, training, presentations, workshops, or one-on-one teaching, as shown through prior work experience, coursework, practicum experience, presentations, or related preparation.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the principles of Universal Design for Learning and digital accessibility

- Experience working in academic libraries
- Extensive computer skills, including web applications
- Demonstrated experience with instructional design

Pay
The hiring salary is in the mid-50s range, is commensurate with education and experience, and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion.
