About the Role

Bayer’s Institutional and Specialty Sales (ISS) team is being established to lead and drive launch activities for indications within the Cardiovascular-Renal (CVR) portfolio. The role involves driving demand, clinical education, and sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for top-priority institutions (e.g., hospitals and health systems), cardiologists, and nephrologists in both institutional and community settings. The ISS reports to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and collaborates closely with marketing, market access, patient services, and other internal partners to drive U.S. pharmaceutical outcomes.

The territory spans Gainesville, Ocala, Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Kissimmee, and parts of North Orlando. The position is residence-based, and the candidate must live within the territory and be comfortable working across a large area, including potential overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clinical demand, education, and sales by building a deep understanding of disease states, unmet needs, and treatment options to educate healthcare professionals and business stakeholders on the benefits of assigned products, balancing efficacy and safety through detailing of approved clinical information.
  • Build institutional advocacy to drive formulary, pathway, and protocol adoption of cardiovascular-renal brands to ensure appropriate pull-through of approved products.
  • Develop, co-create with external and internal stakeholders, and implement strategic business plans for identified top strategic institutions, with an in-depth understanding of local market dynamics influencing product sales.
  • Demonstrate expertise in disease states, the marketplace, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional activities, using analytical rigor to anticipate and identify business opportunities and challenges.
  • Build key business relationships with prioritized customers in the community and institutions, including C-suite and D-suite executives, heads of pharmacy, heads of quality, cardiologists, and nephrologists.
  • Manage the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee processes at priority institutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and Area Customer Squads to develop and execute strategic partnerships with key customers.
  • Support Area General Managers in strategic projects as needed.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance while continuously improving proficiency.
  • Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying high ethical standards in day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise and understanding of the cardiovascular and/or renal therapeutic area(s).
  • Experience launching new products and product indications.
  • Excellent facilitation and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up-to-date vaccinations, trainings).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of successful pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales experience in competitive landscapes.
  • Experience selling in institutional and clinic settings and navigating the P&T committee process.
  • Experience establishing and pulling through in-patient to out-patient protocols.

Pay

Employees can expect a salary between $124,320.00 and $186,480.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission.
