Institutional Research Analyst
About the role
Viterbo University invites applications for an Institutional Research Analyst to serve as a member of the Institutional Research department. This position plays a central role in supporting the university's mission through data analysis, reporting, assessment, and institutional effectiveness efforts.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and communicate data to support institutional planning, decision-making, reporting, and key university priorities such as student success, academic excellence, accreditation, and grants.
- Maintain and develop data dashboards for institutional evaluation, planning, decision making, and continuous improvement.
- Support accurate and timely submission of external reports and surveys.
- Communicate data and research findings in a variety of formats to key constituents.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy standards.
- Serve on the Dashboard Team and the Data Governance Committee.
- Other responsibilities assigned by the Director of Institutional Research.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, educational research, social sciences, computer science or a related analytical discipline required; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years' professional experience in a data analytics or research; prior higher education experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
- Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, R, Python, or Jamovi is required.
- Experience with data visualization, ERP, and/or survey tools such as Ellucian Colleague, SQL, Qualtrics, Tableau is preferred.
- Strong abilities in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, research methodologies, and problem-solving.
- Ability to organize research results and conclusions in variety of formats to key stakeholders.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- High degree of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.
