About the role

The Installer III leads complex project teams in the installation, disassembly, and reassembly of commercial office furniture at customer sites. This role serves as the main point of contact for installation teams, plans workflow, resolves problems, and ensures customer satisfaction. The position requires close collaboration with customers, trades, and colleagues to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct installation teams for high-complexity projects, including staging job sites using blueprints, elevations, and specifications.
  • Disassemble and reassemble all systems furniture, regardless of manufacturer.
  • Install wall attachments such as whiteboards, Egan boards, wall channels, and panel attachment brackets.
  • Develop creative solutions to resolve installation problems.
  • Interact effectively with customers, trades, colleagues, subcontractors, and temporary workers.
  • Coordinate with tradesmen (e.g., electricians, cablers) to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Train installers, temps, and contractors on correct installation methods and problem resolution.
  • Monitor installation work to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Manage administrative paperwork related to installations.
  • Maintain awareness of company and Steelcase resources for problem-solving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eight or more years of experience in commercial office furniture installation.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, elevations, and specifications.
  • At least one year of experience leading and managing teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to drive 24 ft. trucks (no CDL required).
  • Valid Washington state driver’s license and a good driving record (as defined by Splice).
  • Willingness to learn about services offered in the furniture industry.
  • Ability to provide and maintain your own toolset for job site work.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands or fingers to handle tools and controls.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment noise level is usually low to moderate.

Pay

Compensation range: $24.84 - $28.39 per hour. The base salary will be determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions. Total compensation depends on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

  • Location: South Seattle, WA.
  • Shifts: Monday - Friday, Day Shift (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM) or Night Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), plus overtime as needed.
