About the role
TriMark USA is the country’s largest provider of design services, equipment, and supplies to the foodservice industry. We serve customers by delivering design services, commercial equipment, and foodservice supplies across a wide range of industries and business sectors. This full-time, in-office Installation Technician role is based in Houston, TX and reports to the Divisional Director of Installation. The position requires extensive overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Safely unload trucks and handle products to minimize damage during transport; move equipment to designated areas for assembly and installation.
- Assemble and set up commercial kitchen equipment according to specifications and customer requirements.
- Assist with construction tasks such as erecting walk-in coolers/freezers and hanging exhaust hoods.
- Support welding and polishing of stainless steel components as needed.
- Follow blueprints, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate installations.
- Load tools and equipment onto trucks, ensuring proper securing for transport; conduct daily inspections and cleaning of trucks to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Inspect installations with contractors and customers to ensure quality and satisfaction; complete all required documentation accurately and promptly using computer tablets.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager regarding job progress and any issues that arise; track expenses incurred during projects and adhere to company procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent military or practical experience.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in general commercial construction.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic construction codes.
- Experience working with mechanical equipment and stainless steel; welding experience is a plus.
- Certification from a trade school is beneficial.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., hoods, ice machines, dish machines, steamers, ranges, convection ovens) and basic construction principles.
- Proficiency with computers and mobile devices; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to diagnose and address inventory discrepancy issues from beginning to end.
- Strong communication and customer service skills; critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer demands.
Skills
- Stainless steel welding.

Compensation includes a posted base salary range and may include potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
