About the role
This position involves the installation of architectural-grade doors, frames, and hardware, including toilet accessories, toilet partitions, lockers, and other Division 10 products.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions from field supervisor regarding installation of doors, frames, and hardware, including toilet accessories, toilet partitions, lockers, and other Division 10 materials.
- Work independently and with other installers to install Division 8/10 products as assigned and trained.
- Install more technically advanced or demanding architectural-grade products following manufacturer directions and warranty requirements.
- Track time and materials for each installation project.
- Maintain all equipment in good working order and report malfunctions to the field supervisor.
- Train entry-level technicians on proper installation techniques and methods.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and provide quality customer service.
- Attend training to learn new technology of building materials and installation methods as required.
- Perform other relative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Some installation experience with doors, frames, and hardware products or Division 10 products.
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
Skills
- Ability to read and use a measuring tape, level, and other required tools for installation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to understand detailed instructions.
Physical Demands
- Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands, and reaching.
- Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing.
- Frequent lifting of items weighing 50-80 pounds.
Work Environment
- May require driving to project sites.
- May be exposed to variable weather conditions.
- Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
- Subject to frequent heavy lifting.
