About the Role
Safe Haven Security is looking for an Installation Technician / Security Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing best-in-class service by installing, servicing, and troubleshooting residential alarm and automation systems. Your primary goal will be ensuring the proper functioning and optimal performance of security systems, providing customers with peace of mind and protection.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation of security alarm systems including control panels, sensors, cameras, and other related equipment.
- Engage in sales consultations with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate security solutions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to security alarm systems, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing of installed security systems to ensure all components function correctly and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Educate customers on the proper use and functionality of their security alarm systems.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including installation reports, service tickets, and inventory records.
- Stay updated on security alarm systems, emerging technologies, and industry standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Auto insurance coverage that meets company standards throughout employment.
- Ability to obtain or possess an alarm agent permit where applicable and according to Federal, State, and Municipal laws.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving history that meets company standards.
- Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security alarm systems, including control panels, sensors, cameras, and related equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with customers.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently using problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Sustained periods of standing, climbing on ladders, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Ability to use hand and power tools and handle small components accurately.
- Ability to lift, carry, and position heavy objects up to 50 pounds, potentially overhead or in awkward positions.
- Keen eyesight for detailed work.
- Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, and maintaining balance while working on ladders or at elevated heights.
- Capability to work in diverse indoor and outdoor environments, enduring temperature fluctuations and inclement weather.
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle for long periods throughout the day.
