Job Responsibilities
- Perform basic installations, terminations, and testing of equipment under supervision.
- Communicate daily progress and any challenges to the Project Manager.
- Lead small teams on installations and service jobs, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting, testing, and repair of integrated systems.
- Assist with system startups and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Mentor and train Technician I team members on best practices.
- Collaborate with Field Engineers and Project Managers to address complex challenges.
- Cook up material and equipment needs to maintain project timelines.
- Act as a subject matter expert and site leader, managing larger teams and complex installations.
- Design system layouts and assist with pre-installation planning.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of projects, including closeout and client handoff.
- Perform advanced programming and end-user training for systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
- Ensure all projects remain within budget and on schedule while meeting Barton’s quality standards.
- Lead safety practices on site and enforce compliance.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in the electronic or low-voltage industry.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Proven ability to lead small teams and manage time effectively.
- Certified in manufacturer technologies such as Bosch, Avigilon Alta, LenelS2, Brivo, Genea, Kisi, Honeywell, Axis, Hanwha, Salient, etc.
- Advanced troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Experience designing systems and collaborating with project management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Job sites include construction areas, office spaces, industrial environments, and outdoor locations.
- Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and heights over 6 feet.
- Travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
