About the Role
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH, with work locations in New Albany, OH and Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities
- Pull, dress, and label cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) according to TIA/EIA standards
- Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance
- Assist in labeling and cable identification
- Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks
- Support cable testing using basic tools (Fluke, EXFO) under supervision
- Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 10 hours per day
- Must be open to 1st shift and 2nd shift
- Overtime and Saturday (8 hours) work may be required
Qualifications
- Must have prior labor experience (construction, warehouse) with good tenure
- Willing to train if you have some of the required experience
- Termination/punch down experience
- Construction, Trades, Maintenance, Military or Warehouse Experience
- Installers must understand the importance of attendance and maintain a good attitude
- Must be able to pass Background and Drug Screen
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standard work environment includes indoors business office and construction environment
- Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods
- Noise level is usually moderate
- Regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis daily
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet
- May be required to work in tight, confined spaces
- Must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance
- Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle within the region and to other locations may be required
Pay
- $23.00 per hour
