Job Description Job Summary Install Technicians are responsible for installing/modifying compressed air piping and its components. Essential Job Functions Perform technical skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, installation and modification of compressed air systems and accessoriesProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of compressed air systems and/or accessories both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directedRead and interpret operational manuals, piping schematics, general compressed air equipment literature, and work orders to perform installation and/or modificationsPerform basic mathematical calculations; including but not limited to, measuring and basic formulasUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing dutiesDetect faulty operations, defective material and report them and any other unusual situations to the Install Manager in a timely mannerComply with safety regulations. Maintain clean and orderly shop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas.Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout the day. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required. Additional Job Functions May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch, pulley, hoist and/or pallet jackWill be required to tow a trailer or portable air compressor using Company vehicle Experience And Skills Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment) Working knowledge of compressed air systems and its components, including knowledge of the mechanical operation, associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipmentAbility to interpret schematics/drawingsWorking knowledge of fundamental mathematical operationsAbility to take preventative safety measures to avoid electrical shock, limit exposure to loud noises, and prevent personal injury by using personal protective equipment, including the use of NFPA 70E protective equipment when applicableSkilled usage of mechanical tools utilized to assemble and repair compressed air systems and their componentsAbility to perform duties in non-climate controlled environments such as outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related wet, humid and/or extreme heat conditionsPosition requires extended periods of standing, extended periods of sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and the use of hands to finger, grasp, handle and feel often in repetitive motionAbility to handle heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.Ability to install piping at heights up to 50 feetRequires the ability to speak in a manner that conveys detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quicklyAbility to hear by receiving detailed verbal information or by making distinction in sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.Visual sharpness to operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment in a safe manner with or without correction. Qualifications Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications) High School or equivalent (GED)5 to 7 years of related work experience or training or equivalent combination of both education and experienceMotor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply with Company policyExperience on Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Kaeser, Sullair, Gardner Denver, Kobelco, Boge, Kaishan compressors are a plus
