Inspector Receiving

About the Role

The Quality Control Receiving Inspector ensures all engines, APUs, landing gears, parts, tooling, and materials brought into the JetBlue system are serviceable and airworthy. This role maintains quality standards throughout the certification and acceptance process, adhering to company and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and sign for the airworthiness of engines, APUs, landing gears, parts, tooling, and materials entering the JetBlue system.
• Ensure all items comply with engineering controls, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and technical standard items.
• Sign the JetBlue airworthiness release certificate tag (MX-41) for all engines and spare parts.
• Perform general visual inspections to identify defects, shipping damage, and suspected unapproved parts.
• Verify parts are received with proper supporting documentation meeting company and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Certify parts are from an approved source and suitable for use on JetBlue aircraft.
• Determine if parts and materials are serviceable or unserviceable per the General Maintenance Manual and Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Support other departments, including Aircraft Records & Compliance, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
• Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or equivalent experience as a qualified Receiving Inspector.
• Two (2) years of experience receiving aircraft parts and materials.
• Ability to interpret and understand technical manuals and data.
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver License with a driving record meeting JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards.
• Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces.
• Available for overnight travel (10%).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located; authorization to work in the U.S. is required (this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of previous receiving inspection experience.
• One (1) year of previous aircraft maintenance experience.
• Turbine engine inspection experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Effective communication skills; complete fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to write technically to maintain required documentation for aircraft parts.
• Ability to think creatively and work under pressure in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to aircraft parts and airworthiness.

• Able to maintain a professional appearance.
• When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, assist with light cleaning of the aircraft if time permits.

Work Environment & Physical Effort

This position operates in a traditional office environment, airports, and hangars. It requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
