Inspector Packer - 7pm-7am

Responsibilities

• Read packaging documents to determine product specifications.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of products to standards.
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Stock and sort products for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
• Clean and remove damaged or otherwise inferior materials to prepare raw products for processing.
• Package the product in the form in which it will be sent out.
• Assemble corrugated shipping containers, trays, and boxes.
• Perform final inspection of product (check product for de-nest, count covers for proper stack height).

Requirements

• Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong (recognize product jams).
• Ability to see details at close range (color swirls, contamination).
• Ability to match or detect differences between colors (white or natural).
• Ability to make precisely coordinated movement of both arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects (install ¾” vents and push in fittings).
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with your body, arms, and/or legs.
• Ability to make fast, simple, repeated movement of the fingers, hands, and wrists (install plastic and or wire handles in pails).
• Oral and written comprehension (understand packaging documents).
• Ability to identify or detect differences among product such as flash, mold, contamination, under fill, etc.
• Ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among product.
• Ability to load/unload, or stack products.
