Inspector - Mobile, AL
About the role
To support the next phase of Virginia and Columbia Class submarine construction, Electric Boat is seeking Quality Inspectors to perform inspection duties at offsite locations. The position involves verifying attributes for welds, structures, and components, and adhering to Electric Boat procedures and Quality Department Instructions.
Responsibilities
- Verify welds, structures, and components according to Electric Boat procedures and Quality Department Instructions
- Train in Quality Control systems and Electric Boat procedures
- Collaborate with team members to meet company and organizational goals
- Maintain Magnetic Particle certification and proficiency in additional inspection disciplines upon achievement
- Pass Mock Audits and oversights to maintain certification
- Embody Electric Boat's Core Values, work safely, and adhere to quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain MT, PT, or ET certification
- Ability to attain a key department qualification/certification within six months
- Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to work at heights, tight spaces, and in extreme weather conditions
- Able to document, record, and archive work accurately
- Possess basic hand tools
- Willingness to work all shifts, extended weekdays, weekends, and travel to offsite locations as needed
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
- Must have mechanical and electrical experience
- Must have NACE Certified
- Must have metal fabrication experience
- Must have related military/Navy experience
