Duties

  • Perform necessary volume measurements, temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, and documentation ensuring accurate and complete assessments of quantity and quality of materials.
  • Able to perform specified methodologies for duties including but not limited to: volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials; visual inspections of lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, and barges; custody transfer surveys; routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
  • Verify and communicate results and enter into appropriate media (print or electronic) to ensure validity and traceability of information.
  • Provide on-the-job training to less experienced Inspectors and offer assistance to more experienced Inspectors.
  • Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to facilitate smooth execution of duties.
  • Maintain awareness of supply needs for ongoing processes and inform relevant parties.
  • Organize and coordinate tasks to ensure timely submission of reports and samples.

Requirements

  • Main Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or closely related field with two (2) years of experience as an Inspector or related role.
  • Alternate Education and Experience: No degree and four (4) years of experience in a related role.
  • Special Skills: Two (2) years of experience in IFIA (International Federation of Inspection Agencies) certified roles, TWIC certification, proficiency in interpreting and applying API MPMS Chapters 3,7,8, 11, 12 and 17, petroleum and chemical inspection procedures, training in field audit assessments, and familiarity with dispatching and coordinating company processing, operating systems, and data systems such as Phoenix, C-Bis, Sample Manager, ICAM, etc.
