Inspector Dyno Operator
About the Role
Examines a variety of goods, services, and operations for conformity to established quality standards by performing inspection duties and responsibilities. Acts as a special technical inspection advisor to the Site/Field Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Assure that tools and equipment meet standards and calibration requirements.
- Adhere to inspection standards, methods, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with requirements for continuity of inspection responsibilities, including shift changes or reassignments.
- Ensure all inspections are properly performed on completed work before approval for return to service, and maintain proper inspection records, reports, and forms.
- Maintain familiarity with applicable manuals and regulations; ensure technical data on vehicles and components are current.
- Perform periodic checks on tools and monitor calibration of precision test equipment.
- Ensure publications used by maintenance personnel are current.
- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting systems to determine malfunctions and corrective actions.
- Assist in proper procedures for removal and replacement of engines and main transmission assemblies.
- Inspect repairs, removals, services, or replacements of hydraulic system components, gauges, instruments, and system components.
- Ensure all maintenance operational checks are documented and performed according to technical manuals.
- Read and interpret manufacturers' and military maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and other specifications to determine repair feasibility and methods.
- Improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and provide quality customer service.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment
- Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards.
- Frequent lifting of 20-50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking.
- Routine sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- Constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and work under deadlines.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of inspector or related experience working with US Army combat/tactical equipment and/or heavy wheeled/tracked construction equipment.
- Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements.
- Familiarity with US Army maintenance to the -30 level preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality Management System specifications.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals and publications, including electronic manuals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (US Citizenship required).
- Ability to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Passing a pre-employment drug screen and government background check.
- Must successfully pass a National Agency Check (NAC) within 60 days of hire if required.
- Must be available for any shift, including weekends and other hours as needed.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
Work on this contract is performed at the Red River Army Depot. Access requires registration with the United States Selective Service.
Pay
$32.96 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
