Inspector
WSP is seeking a Full-Time Inspector for their client's Syracuse, NY Field Office. Additional locations include Albany and Cortland.
About the role
Be involved in projects with the Construction Management Team and contribute to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves their challenges. This role involves providing construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure projects are built according to contract requirements, making timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, prepare construction reports, and expedite contract execution.
- Supervise inspectors and maintain a written daily log of project progress, actions performed, contractor workforce, materials approvals, deliveries, and site issues.
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, conduct meetings, and communicate with team members in various roles.
- Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with the Regional Safety Manager as needed.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, with at least 6 years in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Construction Inspector, including site/civil work.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach working with clients and contractors/subcontractors.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific needs.

Pay
Expected compensation range: $38.51 - $52.26 per hour (varies by location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
