Inspector (APU Release to Service)

About the role

The Quality Inspector ensures that completed engines and components meet the minimum quality standards established by the FAA and customers. This role involves reviewing and evaluating maintenance documentation, performing inspections, and communicating findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate all maintenance documentation for completed or assembled products.
• Record and communicate findings legibly and precisely to the operations manager and customer program manager.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate technical documents.
• Perform minor disassembly and assembly in accordance with inspection requirements.
• Follow all company policies, including safety instructions.
• Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote good housekeeping practices.
• Apply working knowledge of FAA requirements for repair stations (14 CFR Part 145 and Part 43).
• Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
• Assist with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.
• Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the inspection of aircraft components and documentation.
• Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, CMMs, and other basic inspection tools.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret dimensional drawings and OEM manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

• A&P Mechanic certification or prior holder of a Repairman Certificate.
• Prior experience issuing FAA Form 8130-3s.
