Responsibilities
- Verify vehicle information based on work order: inspect customer vehicles at time of receipt (interior, exterior, odometer, trunk, engine compartment) and identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems (e.g., frame/paint, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition).
- Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
- Set up system for day-end and perform day-end procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, system capabilities, job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.
- Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
- Conduct OVE courtesy walk-around inspections.
- Stay updated on improvements and changes in body mechanical, frame labor, and inspection techniques.
- Demonstrate safety commitment by following safety and health procedures and modeling safe behaviors; actively participate in safety activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Requirements
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
- Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license required; safe driving record needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical understanding and good organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods; bend, stoop, squat, or kneel; lift and hold at least 10 lbs at waist level for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment
- Exposure to outdoor weather and inclement conditions (100% outdoors).
- Moderate noise level.
- May be exposed to fumes and odors.
- May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.
Drug Testing
Pre-employment drug test required (excluding marijuana). Possession, use, or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property, or in company vehicles is prohibited.
Pay
Hourly pay rate in the range of $13.70 - $20.53/hour. The base rate may vary based on location, candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission or incentive programs.
