Inspector 3 (Sensors)

About the role

This role involves inspecting products in a manufacturing environment, utilizing various tools and software, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
• Identify and document non-conforming parts, while maintaining inspection records in Oracle.
• Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirements.
• Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
• Avoidance of cross-training other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
• Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues.
• Work with limited supervision to perform manual set up, test, and troubleshooting which includes performance testing and trim grind.
• Complete understanding of operation of all inspection equipment within the department.
• Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
• Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
• Participate in and support team initiatives.
• Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
• Exemplify and coach others on the GE Leadership behaviors.
• Perform duties on more complex, prototype or first-time builds.
• Perform final inspection responsibilities as required by area.
• Document First Article inspections as required.
• Perform and document complex testing (i.e. – surge test, di-electric, hipot, helium leak check, ATP, hardness testing etc.) as required.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED equivalency.
• 3 years’ inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Ability and willingness to use hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. – optical comparators, ohm meters, leak check, CMM’s, dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
• Intermediate understanding of basic computer applications, such as Oracle and Microsoft applications.
• Ability and willingness to obtain specific knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines (Electrical Inspection, Mechanical Inspection).
• Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required.

Qualifications

• Intermediate understanding of special processes such as brazing, soldering, welding, coating, etc. as required within the department.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100).
• Prior experience in a self-directed team environment.
• Desired experience in Customer requirements, Audit experience, and Knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100).

Skills

Pay

The pay for this position is $27.75/hr. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.

Schedule

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations, working with chemicals, and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Physical Demands

Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance. Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.; ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs.
