About the role
Inspection Engineering roles at GE Aerospace involve leveraging state‑of‑the‑art inspection technology to ensure that manufactured components meet all dimensional and material quality requirements. Successful candidates will work with GE Aerospace engineers to implement nondestructive testing (NDT) methods such as x‑ray computed tomography, phased array ultrasound, and infrared thermography to validate material quality, and to apply 3D non‑contact metrology methods such as structured light and optical tomography in a manufacturing environment. Projects span the entire inspection process from inspection design through data collection to digital image analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Implement NDT methods (x‑ray computed tomography, phased array ultrasound, infrared thermography) to validate material quality.
- Apply 3D non‑contact metrology techniques (structured light, optical tomography).
- Participate in inspection design, data collection, digital image analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with GE Aerospace engineers in a manufacturing setting.
- Ensure components meet dimensional and material quality specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (no rounding).
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related major.
- Enrolled full‑time in a nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program.
