Insider Risk Specialist

Responsibilities
- Investigate complex insider risk matters, including nation-state attempts to influence, recruit, or exploit trusted insiders; data leaks; and, unauthorized disclosures of sensitive information
- Gather evidence, develop investigative hypotheses, and communicate clear, well-supported findings
- Partner with People Relations, Legal, Privacy, Security, Enterprise Technology and business leaders
- Partner with stakeholders across Robinhood to support Requests for Assistance (RFAs), exception reviews, and other security consultations
- Assess risks for M&A, strategic initiatives, new products, and business processes
- Evaluate third-party vendors and offshore support operations, recommending practical risk-based controls
- Conduct personnel vetting, due diligence, and other assessments
- Assess insider risk across Robinhood’s global workforce, including employees, contractors, third-party vendors, and offshore support operations
- Analyze behavioral, technical, and contextual signals to identify emerging insider risk
- Assess evolving threats, including AI-enabled attacks and nation-state tradecraft
- Identify trends and early indicators associated with data leaks, unauthorized disclosures, and other emerging insider risks
- Improve detections, controls, playbooks, and overall program maturity
- Leverage AI to accelerate investigations, validate findings, and improve decision-making
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work and improve investigative workflows
- Help evaluate and operationalize new AI capabilities across the Insider Trust Program
- Take ownership from initial assessment through resolution, continuously improving processes, detections, and the Insider Trust Program along the way
- Prioritize competing investigations and business requests while maintaining sound risk judgment in a fast-moving environment
- Build trusted partnerships and influence security outcomes across technical and business teams
- Continuously develop your investigative, technical, and AI skillset while helping improve how the team operates
- Stay current on emerging insider risk trends, AI, nation-state tradecraft, and security technologies
- Share knowledge, contribute to playbooks, and help raise the capabilities of the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in insider threat, investigations, analysis, vetting, counterintelligence, internal fraud, military intelligence, or a related investigative discipline
- Strong investigative instincts with experience assessing behavioral, technical, and contextual information to evaluate risk and develop well-supported findings
- Experience investigating insider risk involving foreign influence, nation-state activity, or other sophisticated threats
- Excellent critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations
- AI fluency, including experience using AI to improve investigations, build workflows or automations, and validate AI generated outputs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
- A builder’s mindset with a passion for learning and continuously improving
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Experience in counterintelligence, military intelligence or Intelligence Community roles
- Nice to have: Experience with SIEM, UEBA, DLP, endpoint telemetry, identity systems, or digital forensics
- Nice to have: Experience working in FinTech or another highly regulated industry

Pay
The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
Schedule
This role is based in our Washington DC, Denver, CO, Menlo Park CA, New York, NY or Bellevue, WA office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
