Inside Upholsterer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Use transfer cart to move assembled frame from conveyor to upholstery lift.
• Staple filler material (foam) to the frame using a pneumatic staple gun.
• Cut excessive filler material from the frame with scissors.
• Attach fabric/leather to the frame using a pneumatic staple gun and pull/stretch fabric to ensure fit.
• Smooth out and tuck seams with a regulator (ice pick).
• Trim excess fabric around the finished wood portions of the frame with a box cutter.
• Lift up to 100 pounds with assistance to sit frames off of the assembly conveyor due to repairs.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five years of experience
• Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written)
• Basic math skills: counting, adding, subtracting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Must have hand to eye coordination
• Must be organized and able to multi-task
• Must be able to complete job duties in a timely manner
• Ability to pay close attention to details
• Excellent attendance record
• Flexible to changing work stations as business dictates
• Overtime as required, including Saturdays
