About the Role
The Inside Sales Technician partners with Apogee Architectural Metals’ direct Sales Representatives, Estimators, Project Managers, and Engineering teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of estimates and order placement. This role delivers superior customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and following up as required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Requests for Quote (RFQs) from material lists, elevation takeoffs, or plans and specifications.
- Price storefront, curtain walls, and doors using the Price Book, Online Rapid Entry, or Glaziers Studio.
- Ensure customers receive superior service by processing orders, preparing correspondence, and coordinating with other departments.
- Generate material lists and elevation takeoffs based on architectural drawings.
- Prepare and submit project submittals, including samples and mockups.
- Price projects (as described above) and add EFCO brand commission to quotes; send quotes directly to customers when required.
- Verify quote accuracy by cross-referencing RFQs.
- Complete the Price Summary Commission Report (PSCR) and Project Information Form (PIF) using the website pricing program (Rapid Entry).
- Answer routine customer questions and escalate in-depth inquiries to appropriate parties.
- Maintain a working log of all project activity requests.
- Participate in weekly project follow-up meetings and other calls to support successful sales efforts.
- Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safe performance of duties.
- Adhere to Apogee Architectural Metals policies and Inside Sales Technician (IST) standard operating procedures.
- Support Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding team performance and actively implementing process improvements.
- Utilize Salesforce to its fullest extent, as the role requires.
- Work with representatives to prioritize workload.
- Assist with project challenges, including improving lead times, expedites, freight damage, and other customer needs.
- Collaborate with all departments as needed to accomplish tasks.
- Understand competitors’ products, tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Construction or Project Management preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in estimating, engineering, drafting, factory order, or project management.
- Extensive knowledge of EFCO brand products preferred.

Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor (proper PPE required).
