Inside Sales Specialist – Houston - Administrative

Mackay Marine is a global marine electronics service company with over 50 years of experience, employing more than 500 people across 70 service depots in 22 countries. We sell, install, and service navigation and communication equipment for commercial shipping vessels and naval ships.

About the role

The Inside Sales Specialist will support team members, customers, and company accounts with parts ordering and fulfillment. This role involves material handling, shipping/receiving, and physical tasks such as lifting, using pallet jacks, and working on ladders or lifts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for customer sales, service, and information requests, ensuring prompt and professional fulfillment of customer needs.
• Assist in researching basic technical issues related to products and services, collect customer problem symptoms, and facilitate repairs.
• Provide quick and accurate customer quotes and proposals.
• Identify revenue opportunities within the marine industry to grow the business.
• Manage shipping and receiving functions to track and account for all incoming and outgoing materials, including customer orders, inventory, repairs, or internal use.
• Respond to customer requests for information.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store, service area, and stockroom.
• Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed using Mackay’s ERP system.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of inventory control and/or stockroom experience.
• 3+ years of sales experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret and solve problems using instructions, diagrams, or schedule forms.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship and pass a thorough background check.
