About the Role

Dobbs Equipment is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to focus on the sale, rental, and leasing of John Deere Compact Construction Equipment (CCE), including Mini Excavators, Skid Steers, Compact Track Loaders, Compact Wheel Loaders, and their attachments.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect dormant, new, and walk-in accounts to drive sales of John Deere CCE.
  • Welcome and greet potential customers, listen to their requirements, answer inquiries, and make product recommendations.
  • Make an adequate number of daily calls to assigned accounts to identify sales leads and promote dealership products and services, including parts, service, and sales offerings.
  • Follow up on leads and quotes within 24 hours.
  • Quote and negotiate prices, credit, and financial terms, and complete necessary documentation to finalize sales.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of manufacturer discounts and special dealer pricing programs.
  • Record and report all sales activity in CRM/Dynamics, including calls, leads, quotes, and customer management.
  • Provide product demonstrations and machine walk-arounds for customers at the dealership.
  • Meet or exceed company targets for calls and sales quotas.
  • Attend training and sales meetings to stay current with new equipment and technology.
  • Evaluate used equipment to determine trade-in value when requested.
  • Adhere to Dobbs Equipment and client safety policies.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication skills, including persuasive and negotiation abilities.
  • Fluency in Spanish (preferred but not required).
  • Customer-focused with the ability to prioritize customer needs and provide excellent service.
  • Self-managed and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Dynamics.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think creatively.

Work Environment

The role involves occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather. The noise level is usually quiet.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Requires close vision and color vision.
