About the role
This position is focused on generating new 401(k) plan sales by partnering with retirement plan advisors, qualifying small and mid-sized employer opportunities, and presenting Schwab Retirement Plan Services capabilities in a consultative, compliance-aware manner.
Responsibilities
- Generate new retirement plan business through advisor referrals and internal lead sources.
- Manage a sales pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Conduct discovery discussions with advisors and plan sponsors.
- Qualify opportunities based on plan size, advisor relationship, and strategic fit.
- Present Schwab retirement plan solutions and pricing.
- Develop proposals tailored to sponsor and advisor needs.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with retirement plan advisors to generate referrals, support opportunity development, and strengthen Schwab’s position within the advisor community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in the financial services industry.
- Minimum of two years' experience working with retirement plans.
- Knowledge of 401(k) plans, ERISA, mutual funds, collective investment trusts, and banking products commonly used within retirement plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required, or ability to obtain required registrations within 120 days as a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using CRM tools.
- Managing an inside-sales pipeline.
- Developing advisor or intermediary relationships.
- Presenting retirement plan solutions to business owners or plan fiduciaries.
