Inside Sales Representative (Centralized Sales)
As a Representative in Inside Sales, you will interact with existing customers to increase sales of the Company's products and/or services. You will obtain, create, and up-sell orders, ensuring customer satisfaction and adding value to the customer's buying experience. Your focus will be on proactive selling techniques to expand the current book of accounts, collaborating with outside sales to meet goals.
Responsibilities
- Obtain orders through email and telephone calls, verify and enter items, transfer orders to fulfillment, and explain stock-outs and expected delivery dates.
- Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and reviewing customer’s buying history.
- Own, qualify, and develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
- Identify ways for continuous improvement of processes.
- Prepare, generate, and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reasons for loss of order.
- Review open customer order reports and take action on open items, including those at risk of missing promised delivery dates.
- Maintain distribution system backorder reports, associated customer expediting reports, and customer notifications.
- Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in sales and sales administration; fully competent and productive professional contributor.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and new accounts.
- Problem-solving skills to address moderately difficult issues and choose among existing solutions.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Travel requirement: 0% - 25%.
Pay
$26.02 - $32.53 per hour. This role includes the opportunity to earn commission in addition to base salary, with earnings tied to individual sales performance.
