Act as the internal first line contact for assigned customer accounts, responsible for general and specific tasks related to the effective execution and support of the end-to-end sales cycle processes through account management and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Work to meet all established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Represent the company professionally and courteously.
- Partner with the Sales team to ensure account retention through seamless customer support, resource orchestration, and order fulfillment troubleshooting.
- Handle data entry, quote support, record management, research activities, logistics (communication with warehouse), and shipment scheduling via defined processes.
- Manage all customer master data, including shipping conditions, contract pricing, customer contact information, CRM data, prior day invoicing, and order entry.
- Proactively drive account management while executing tasks to support the sales process and move opportunities forward.
- Collaborate professionally with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues.
- Improve customer VMI program by adding, changing, and deleting items, and driving efficiency to enhance service and profitability.
- Follow company guidelines to establish selling prices and profit margins; actively research profitability concerns.
- Support continuous improvement reviews for customers.
- Use established reporting tools for inventory review and new item additions.
- Manage customer portals for demand, quote requests, and corrective actions.
- Maintain and build customer relationships to become a trusted consultative advisor.
- Read and decipher customer prints to provide accurate quotes.
- Recommend and identify internal process improvements.
- Respond timely to requests via phone, fax, email, or chat.
- Upsell products and services through weekly sales or company promotions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of customer service, inside sales, or related experience.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills.
- SAP skills are advantageous.
- Ability to read and analyze customer purchase orders, drawings, and vendor-supplied reference material.
- Strong data analysis skills to make decisions impacting customers.
- Ability to provide professional written, computer-generated, or verbal quotations and recommendations.
- Clear and concise verbal communication via phone and in person.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to establish credibility, respect, and trust with internal colleagues and external customers.
- Ability to motivate employees, create a team environment, and resolve conflict.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of up to 25 lbs.
