Inside Sales Representative

Boise Cascade is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to drive sales, manage customer relationships, and support product management.

Responsibilities

• Initiate sales, take orders, and anticipate and meet customer needs.
• Manage assigned products, including vendor selection, purchasing, pricing, inventory monitoring, and promotion.
• Contact customers regarding market fluctuations and trends.
• Initiate inquiries, sales, and promotions for product needs.
• Coordinate and maximize customer inventory.
• Communicate customer service requirements to location’s customer service representatives.
• Coordinate customer deliveries with shipping personnel.
• Perform freight/trucking specialist responsibilities at some locations.
• Contact vendors regarding customer questions or concerns about products.
• Assist outside sales staff and product managers.
• Develop and execute marketing programs, promotions, and new product research.
• Provide lead role to sales support staff.
• Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent work experience in a related job function.
• Office environment with minimal physical exertion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of building products.
• Ability to understand and apply mathematical calculations (fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or with teams/groups.
• Knowledge of office equipment operation (PC, calculators, software, etc.).
