Job Summary
The Inside Sales Engineer will provide customer sales and support for commercial contractor sales of HVAC equipment and supplies. This role requires collaboration with the commercial sales team, technical advising, and product advocacy. Successful candidates will also assist with training, issue resolution, and identifying sales opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to new business opportunities based on sales leads from Account or Sales Managers and generate quotes for commercial sales with assigned accounts.
- Support Account Managers and Sales Managers with new and existing accounts, and introduce new products to Engineers and Mechanical Contractors.
- Complete bids, submittals, and take-offs based on plan reviews and specifications in support of commercial sales.
- Follow-up on quotes, bids, and submittals to finalize the sale.
- Engage extensively with customers, manufacturers, and the sales team via phone and email.
- Train Commercial dealers as needed.
- Resolve customer issues in alignment with the company’s mission, values, and financial objectives.
- Identify and communicate customer needs and sales opportunities to drive future growth.
- Travel as needed with the Sales Team to support presentations and trade show activities.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge and applications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM/Database tools.
- Experience working with contractors is highly desired.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technical Field or equivalent successful experience in a similar technical role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- 3-5+ years of commercial HVAC engineering or applications experience, or technical knowledge of HVAC.
