Inside Sales & Business Development Associate
About the role
A leading national provider of environmental monitoring equipment, rentals, and supplies is seeking an organized, self-motivated professional to join its team in a dynamic Sales & Business Development role. This position supports inside sales operations while helping drive business growth through lead generation, customer engagement, and marketing initiatives. Primary responsibilities include identifying and qualifying new sales opportunities, managing and responding to inbound web-generated leads, maintaining accurate customer information within a CRM system, and serving as a front-line resource for prospective and existing customers. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys building relationships while helping customers find solutions. This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to business growth by generating new opportunities, supporting sales initiatives, engaging with customers, and assisting with marketing efforts that strengthen brand presence and expand market reach. Experience with social media content creation and campaign management is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound sales and rental inquiries generated through web traffic, advertising, and digital campaigns.
- Qualify and assess new revenue opportunities, including competition, timing, project duration, sales cycle, and customer decision-making processes.
- Build, manage, and execute outbound call campaigns utilizing company systems and available lead sources, including existing customer relationships, past interactions, referrals, LinkedIn, trade associations, and other prospecting channels.
- Understand equipment applications and assist customers in selecting appropriate field equipment.
- Prepare quotations and enter customer orders.
- Execute assigned sales and marketing initiatives with accountability and urgency.
- Manage time and activities to provide effective sales support, pipeline management, and prospecting efforts.
- Develop and maintain a professional network of industry contacts and build relationships with key industry stakeholders.
- Utilize CRM and company systems to document sales activities and manage a dynamic sales pipeline.
- Collaborate with internal teams and multiple office locations to ensure opportunities and orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered.
- Previous cold-calling experience and ability to manage high call volumes.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new tools, equipment, and technologies.
- Experience selling technical products and/or solutions.
- Experience using CRM platforms and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with social media marketing, content creation, or campaign management is a plus but not required.
