Inpatient Psychiatrist (Physician, Psychiatrist)

About the role

The Inpatient Psychiatrist provides psychiatric and medical services to assigned patients, including diagnosis, mental status evaluation, pharmacologic management, risk assessment, and use of physical examination, laboratory tests, imaging, and other discipline assessments as necessary. This position leads the interdisciplinary treatment team by coordinating interdisciplinary clinical formulation and biopsychosocial treatment plan goals, interventions, and delivery and outcome assessment. Duties also include making recommendations to county mental health agencies, courts, or forensic review bodies (inside and outside OSH) pertaining to risk mitigation and appropriate level of care. This position reports to the program Supervising Psychiatrist and the OSH Chief of Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric and medical services, including diagnosis, mental status evaluation, and pharmacologic management.
• Conduct risk assessments and utilize physical examinations, laboratory tests, imaging, and other assessments.
• Lead the interdisciplinary treatment team, coordinating clinical formulation and biopsychosocial treatment plans.
• Make recommendations to county mental health agencies, courts, or forensic review bodies regarding risk mitigation and appropriate level of care.

Requirements

• Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry at the time of appointment.
• Physician's license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners at the time of appointment, maintained throughout employment.

Preference may be given to candidates with significant experience with forensic patients or completion of a forensic psychiatry fellowship.

Pay

$24,264 - $28,090 per month. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.

Schedule

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Salem, OR.
